Prestigious car design and manufacturers, Aston Martin drives its workforce to achieve the highest standards by being fully committed to training and development. With some 1,500 people employed by the organisation, they aim to ensure that they focus on reducing skills gaps by focussing on the needs of every individual. The organisation out-sources the majority of its training to a variety of training providers and has had a particularly long and successful relationship with Charterhouse Training.

Les Kelland, Training Manager, has been working with Charterhouse Training for over ten years offering a number of programmes to employees across all areas of the Aston Martin business. “I have been very pleased with the levels of service received from Charterhouse. I have developed very good relationships with its business managers and feel that our organisation’s business needs are fully met.”
Les first came into contact with Charterhouse Training a decade ago when working for Mayflower Vehicle Systems in Coventry. He was already engaged with what was then Tile Hill College in relation to apprenticeship programmes and picked up a brochure on a visit to the college about Charterhouse Training. “I immediately identified with the scope of provision and knew that these courses could benefit our business so made an appointment to see one of the Business Managers. Given the quality of provision I looked to maintain the link when I moved to Aston Martin and we have now undertaken around 100 courses with them.”
Aston Martin was founded in 1914 and over ninety years have retained their principle goals; to build sports cars with individual and distinctive characters; built to the highest standards, exhilarating to drive and own. Over the years they have accessed the full range of Charterhouse Training’s scheduled programme, including the majority of the Microsoft Office applications, time management, presentation and assertiveness skills and accredited Institute of Leadership and Management programmes.
All of the training has taken place at Charterhouse’s Carthusian Priory on the London Road in Coventry in its semi rural setting.
